Resisdence Door

― Door with different finishes on both sides ―

It has a door like the one in the gymnasium."
One day a phone rang from a client, a bag designer and owner of the brand.

The request was, "At the entrance of my new house, there is a door that looks like a gymnasium, so I'd like you to replace it or cover it with something."

When asked, he thought that when it comes to iron doors, a cool black-skinned door like a grid frame would naturally be attached, but the construction company imagined a fire door, so they installed a double-door fire door Without a doubt.

We went to the site and was convinced. Certainly a beige fire door is installed. (Laughs, I'm sorry)

This entrance steel door can be seen at the back door in a simple concrete modern architcture.

For the design of the door, Mr. Tanaka of Grid Frame Inc. and I came up with door with different finishes on both sides.

For exterior side, stainless steel panel was attached with innumerable stainless screws, and for interior side, an oxidized copper plate was attached.

The door is suitable for the entrance of a gallery-like space.

「体育館にあるようなドアが付いてしまった」
バッグデザイナーであり、そのブランドの経営者である、クライアントからある日電話が鳴った。

「できたばかりの自邸の入口に、体育館にあるようなドアがついてしまったので、交換または何かで覆って欲しい。」という依頼だった。

聞いてみると、その方は、鉄のドアと言えば、グリッドフレームがつくるような黒皮の格好いいドアが当然取りつくと思っていたが、施工会社は、防火戸をイメージしていたので、両開きの防火戸を付けたらしい。

現地に行って、納得。確かにベージュ色の防火戸が設置されている。（笑、ごめんなさい）

このドア以外は、コンクリートを現わしにしたモダンな空間で、このエントランスのベージュ色の鉄扉はメインエントランスを裏口に見せている。

グリッドフレームの田中さんとドアのデザインを一緒に考え、片面ずつ異なる仕上げのドアに決定した。外側はステンレスパネルを無数のステンレスビスで取付、内側は酸化させた銅板貼りである。

ギャラリーのような内部空間の入口にふさわしいドアとなった。
